The location is fine, but it is very old, lacks tables and chairs for eating, and the bathroom does not have extras like a hair dryer.

The location is perfect and the facilities are good… not too bad, but the cleaning is lacking. We had no contact with hotel staff, who by the way are not called Koala but Lake Central, and over three days the room was not cleaned and towels were not changed.

Maria, the innkeeper, was very courteous; after arriving at 4:30 in Cairns on a midnight flight, she arranged an early check‑in at no extra cost, which was a huge help. The facilities showed a bit of age, and there was a hiccup when the kitchen tap wouldn’t shut off, but when I reported it through the chat, they sent someone to fix it while I was out on an activity, so it was fine. Being in the city centre meant I could drop off groceries in the room whenever I wanted and take a short break before my evening walk, which I appreciated.
