I loved staying in a historic building; the room was very cozy and we enjoyed sitting outside, listening to birds and enjoying the peace. We also got to taste wine. The only hiccup was the smoke detector going off when the kettle boiled, which was just a surprise.

The location was great.

The property was nicely situated on lovely grounds, with rustic and welcoming buildings. The beds and pillows were comfy, the linens were nice, and the towels were huge. However, the strong mold smell caused headaches and an asthma flare, making one room unusable because the window couldn't be opened. The lack of curtains in the other sleeping area was inconvenient early in the morning. The bathroom showed obvious mold in the shower and tile grout, and the shower head was awful—an inexpensive replacement and grout treatment would fix it. The bar fridge froze all the food, and internal shelves and door parts were missing, which was frustrating.

The historic setting was appealing, the bed was comfortable, and each cottage had its own unique style.
