“Good location”
The location is great, with houses in the forest and a sweet-and-salty swimming pool. The food, however, was lacking in quality; the hotel should hire new kitchen staff soon to improve it.

Chema's by the Sea Cottages, situated in tropical gardens, offers 15 charming, standalone cottages with thatched roofs and wood flooring. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and free internet access. The property is a 15-minute boat ride from the Waterfront Indular Hotel Jetty and 40 minutes from the Sasa Ferry Terminal, with Davao International Airport accessible within an hour by car and boat.

Nice and quiet, but the renovation is still needed.

Nice beach, architecture, and staff. The ground is stony, there are no bars nearby, few guests, and it’s closed out of season.

The view of the sea was great, but when we arrived the trash that had washed ashore from the city hadn’t been picked up right away, so a pile of waste built up.

The private beach was pleasant and the gardens were lush, plus the free boat transfer was a nice touch. However, the resort is heavily overpriced for an aging property that clearly needs a major overhaul. I booked the ocean‑facing “suite,” but the room required a full facelift and the air‑con was leaking. Management seemed intent on squeezing every peso, from the outrageously high “corkage” fees for personal drinks to the steep F&B prices. I came with a large family of 10, took three rooms, and spent over 180,000 pesos on a four‑night stay, yet they tried to charge us 150 pesos for a broken bowl until we protested. The restaurant food was awful, and the breakfasts were minimal and basic. On the last morning I ordered the chia bowl for breakfast and it was a joke—just a few chia seeds and fruit bits in a sea of milk. I asked for toast to make up for it, and they attempted to bill me extra, which I refused. We ended up eating most meals at local restaurants. The staff were warm and welcoming, but it seemed the management had them constantly hunting for extra revenue.
