The host goes above and beyond to help guests reach their goals in the area. If you love nature, this is the best spot for wild monkeys, fruit bats, and the daily chorus of birds and butterflies; there’s no traffic, just nature sounds and great stargazing with an on‑site telescope. Nothing to complain about.

The resort sits in nature, surrounded by vegetation and animals. The pool was welcome, though a bit murky like many spots in Sri Lanka. The guard was very friendly and helpful, whipping up a quick breakfast and finding transport solutions for us. Nearby, a tuk‑tuk can take you to the Yapahuwa rock site, which is truly worth a visit. The room was very damp, with damaged walls and a very old sink. The place is beautiful but clearly neglected and will soon be abandoned. The invisible manager replied very briefly to WhatsApp messages. It’s far from any transport.

The bed was comfortable and the AC worked. Unfortunately, it was nothing like the pictures: no bath towels, no food, a dirty room, a bed that looked hardly made with many stains, a filthy pool that didn’t invite swimming, no water pressure at the sink, so dirty we used our own water to brush teeth, and the phone charger didn’t work. The guy now seems to be alone.

There’s hardly anything positive to say. Only the host’s friendliness stands out, as does his quick arrangement of a tuk‑tuk driver for an activity and showing our little son the animals on the adjacent farm. The rest of the review covers the negatives. The room was not even broom‑clean; the room and bathroom were covered in gecko droppings, large cockroaches, and spider webs everywhere, even on the bed. The shower was off when we arrived and only turned on after we asked. We had to run water for a long time to flush out old pipes. The sink drain had hair and other debris, the toilet had urine stains, and the walls had disgusting spots. All surfaces were dirty, with dead ants and beetles lying around (also in the room). The whole property seemed like it had been empty for a long time and had never been cleaned before our arrival. The pool area was similarly neglected, so we didn’t even try it. Breakfast cost 1000 rupees per person, which is relatively expensive and not good in terms of quantity or quality. The kitchen staff (and the tuk‑tuk driver) were present with bleeding mouths in the kitchen during dinner and breakfast preparation. The food was cold and not tasty; we had better meals at other homestays. On top of that, breakfast was scheduled for 8 a.m., but the host and kitchen staff didn’t show up until after 8 a.m. We’re traveling around Sri Lanka for several weeks and have never had such a disgusting stay. We left after one night.
