We had the whole house and a garden, and parking was a breeze. The place was great, but it felt more like staying in a friend's home that still has a few people around, so the cleaning wasn't hotel‑level. That didn't bother us at all.

Location was spot on, right near everything we needed. Everything was within walking distance, so we didn't waste time.

The listing picture looked like a cozy little house, but we ended up in a basement that rattled with a boiler at night. The kitchen was only so‑so, and we had a water leak in the bathroom. The check‑in was pretty average.

The unit was roomy, with a family room that had an extra bed and a pull‑out trundle, and we were just 15 minutes from downtown. We loved the bidet toilet, but the basement layout meant we could hear kids upstairs talking and walking, sometimes loud. The paint was peeling, the decor felt cheap, and there was a damp, moldy smell that could use a dehumidifier.

The spot was perfect and the road outside was quiet, and the host was easy to reach. But the rooms weren't soundproof, and we only found out the day before that there were kids living upstairs, so we could hear them word for word. The blinds didn't block street or security lights, and the place felt more like a finished basement than a rental suite.
