“Redwood Lodge was the perfect place to stay.”
I’m an older American woman traveling alone and had a terrible day when my rental car flat‑tired on a Sunday and no one could replace it. I didn’t have a room booked in Westbury because I planned to drive from there after seeing the Westbury chalk horse. Luckily I found a room at Redwood Lodge. I told them I wasn’t sure when I’d arrive because I’d have to stay in the Aldi parking lot until the issue was sorted. When I got to Redwood, owner Sandy offered me a glass of wine because she knew how bad my day was. She then told me she had a surprise: her husband took me to the back patio and pointed out the distant hill with the Westbury chalk horse. The room and bathroom were beautifully decorated and spotless. Breakfast was delicious. The dining room’s décor was lovely and the table settings were beautifully arranged with special napkins. All of this came at a very reasonable price. People like Sandy and her husband make travel enjoyable. The Aldi grocery staff in Westbury also deserve a shout‑out for letting me leave my car overnight in their lot to be taken to a garage the next morning. Nothing was missing; everything was great.
