“A stay in the Florence's historic city center”

The spot is fantastic, right in the historic city centre and within walking distance of most major sights. We didn’t realise it was actually a room in an apartment, so someone had to let us in, but the communication was solid and Leonardo was very responsive. The bathroom, especially the shower, is tiny and the curtains don’t stop water from spilling. The shampoo and body wash came in two tiny vials that were hard to use, so we had to buy our own.

I was looking for an apartment, but this turned out to be a private house room, a scam that wasn’t advertised and wasn’t known in the area; finally someone told me about this flat. I’ll file a complaint with Italian Tourism and in Spain with Blocking for the collaborator.

The location and architecture were great, but there was no mini‑fridge, so the hot days were tough without a cold drink. The shower was awkward; a shower screen and a higher‑placed shower head would help. The bathroom switch was loose and the sink light was missing, which is a problem for people who can’t see well.

“Great location, but better to avoid.”

The bed was very comfortable, and the check‑in was easy with the host letting us drop luggage early. I tried to bring up the noise issue, asking about the window, but the host dismissed it, saying no one had complained before—check other reviews! Noise was a major problem from the streets; earplugs are a must. The city is busy but the room lacks soundproofing. The window doesn’t seal, so street chatter is audible. The AC sometimes fails; it restarted after a power cycle at 3 am (the heat woke us). Walls are thin, so you can hear neighbours and hallway chatter. Wi‑Fi is awful; mobile data is better. The shower is mounted at thigh height with wooden surrounds that are starting to age and mold. Several lights don’t work or are missing bulbs. The toilet tank fills and drips, adding to the disturbance.

The place is in the heart of town, right next to everything. Leonorado is super friendly, and the room is absolutely cute.
