The location was good—that was all. The staff were not even on site. I arrived 10 min before check‑in and found the front desk empty with the security fence down. An envelope labeled “self‑check‑in instructions” with my name was there. I had booked two nights but was told the person I was supposed to train with at our Accomac office had resigned. That notice came late the day before check‑in, so I tried calling because I only needed the first night (no fault of mine). After a few attempts I reached a live person who referred me to … well, I couldn’t even find a phone number for … The website directed me to the hotel for any reservation changes, but neither was helpful. When I checked out the next morning, I left a note explaining this and asked for an email receipt for the one night. I still haven’t received a response or a phone call. Because of that, I’ll end up paying the hotel out of pocket since my state agency won’t reimburse me without proper documentation. Needless to say, I’ll warn all my friends, family, and anyone I meet to avoid the Charlotte Hotel.
