Private rooms on San Andrés Street place guests in Madrid’s heart, within a 6‑minute walk to Mercado San Miguel and 700 m of Plaza Mayor. The hostel offers free Wi‑Fi, a shared kitchen, terrace, hairdryer, tea/coffee maker, and microwave. Nearby, Puerta del Sol, Gran Vía, and the Thyssen‑Bornemisza Museum are all short strolls.

The location… that’s all. Upon arrival we found fecal matter and hair in the bathroom; in our room the walls were dirty, the sheets yellow, the mattresses foam, hair on the floor, and a dirty rug. When we went to bed a sheet was stained with BLOOD. We requested a sheet change and received harsh messages in all caps, including “DON’T CONTACT ME ANYMORE”, “THERE ARE NO NEW SHEETS”, “I WILL BRING OTHER SHEETS BUT THEY WILL BE THE SAME”, “IT’S STAINED, NOT DIRTY”, and “IF IT WAS ONLY MY FAULT I WOULD NOT HAVE Brought SHEETS”. We fled and were refunded five days later after multiple calls and emails. If you keep this host, you’re part of the problem.

Natalia welcomed us and made our stay very pleasant; she was reachable via WhatsApp for any questions. The location is great, just a few minutes to the city center or the nearest bus stop, but the old building is very noisy, which is high‑level whining.

The location is great, but because it’s a shared‑bathroom place, at least one cleaning a day was expected, which didn’t always happen, and the bed was broken.
