The accommodation is fairly well situated with easy access to transport, letting us reach various parts of Rome without trouble. The apartment is cute, modern and pleasant, and the owners’ gesture of leaving water, tea, sweets and a small welcome kit was very nice and appreciated. Unfortunately, there were a few disappointments. First, the cleanliness could have been much better; for a single night it was acceptable, but the pillows had no covers and were themselves not clean, which was uncomfortable. The biggest issue was communication with the owners. We sent dozens of messages, including important questions about the stay, and received no reply. The situation became especially problematic on check‑in day. The stay was self‑check‑in, so we clearly needed instructions on how to enter the property. We waited outside the building until we finally got a response. Once inside, we found forms on the table asking us to send certain documents, but we still needed more information. Again, no replies to messages or calls. We eventually left to explore the city because we were wasting so much time trying to get basic information. Later we realized we didn’t even know how to enter the courtyard where the block was, or how to get into the building, because none of that was communicated. Without any response, we tried the keys one by one until we figured out how the access worked. At check‑out we had to insist to get the necessary information. I was inspired to ask exactly when I finally managed to reach someone online; otherwise we probably wouldn’t have received the required instructions. This is the first time we’ve faced such a situation: trying to obtain essential check‑in and check‑out information well before arrival and getting no answers. We even received the same automated message twice from Booking, while the concrete questions we asked remained unanswered.
