The room was tidy, the unit bath and amenities were cute, and I really appreciated that; the friendly mascot cat Goma-chan was a soothing presence, and I didn’t expect to find a pet living outside—quite a surprise! No complaints at all.

The breakfast was well-prepared by the host, very extensive and plentiful; if you’re after a place with nothing around, this is a nice spot to unwind in the mountains. It’s close to the abandoned 1998 Olympic bobsleigh track, which is fun to visit, and you should bring a bear bell for the walk. The curtains were sheer, so we woke up at 6 am, but that gave us enough time to read a book.

The owner was friendly and the local guides were excellent; the interior was well maintained, giving a more boutique‑hotel feel than a traditional pension. No complaints.

Even with a last‑minute booking, the staff were pleasant and even handed us a discount voucher for the hot spring; I’d love to return during ski season. No issues.
