“Für mich eine Enttäuschung”
I don’t mean to be harsh on the host, but we were just the wrong guests for this place. I was offered a short‑term stay in Brumath by Gites and fell for the pictures of the Deluxe Bungalow, even though I didn’t notice the mentioned futon bed – a mattress was simply lying on the floor. The photos promised a clean, well‑maintained bungalow, a sauna, and a room bath, which made me arrive with high hopes. In reality the bungalow is old, with cobwebs and other signs of wear; the bathroom with a toilet is in the basement of the old main house, and getting there requires keys to go through the garden gate and into the building. The Deluxe Bungalow itself has a separate toilet. When I asked about the included breakfast, I was told it would be a Japanese breakfast with tea and soup, though this wasn’t mentioned in the description and I didn’t see it. Declining the breakfast resulted in a €15.00 discount, so €135.00 was still due, which I felt was disproportionately high for what was offered. The location is fairly noisy, with traffic sounds late into the night. On the bright side, as a garden owner and nature lover, I appreciated the lovely utility garden and landscaping in front of the Deluxe Bungalow. I’ve written enough – I was simply the wrong guest for this accommodation and I think the details should have been described better.
