The location and the direct view of the Havel and the church are beautiful, but the breakfast solution—having a large family group eat in the room instead of the restaurant—was disappointing, and the restaurant was closed on both of our evenings.

Breakfast wasn’t offered as a buffet as advertised; instead, at night we received only four rolls for two people at the door, and everything else was left on the hallway floor for us to bring back to the room.

The location right by the old harbor is fantastic, and the restaurant is good; the rooms have nice names like Havelblick or Biberburg and are set up accordingly, and the food is very good and the staff is friendly. On my last stay I had a beautiful room overlooking the harbor, but this time my room faced the parking lot and rooftops. That’s not a huge deal, but the bed was hard to reach because of a roof beam and slanted ceiling (see photos), which is annoying if you need to use the bathroom multiple times at night.
