The location was gorgeous and the property itself was quite spacious, with a shuttle that proved handy for moving around; however, I was disappointed to find no security at the entrance of the Villages—there was no key‑card system to access the individual villages.

The main building looked stunning and the terrace offered spectacular views; the swimming pools and tennis courts were nice, and everything from the bathroom to the kitchen was clean and well maintained, while the bed was very comfortable and the staff were super friendly. In Arbor Village, though, the room stayed clean but a persistent mold smell lingered throughout our stay, and we were repeatedly displaced by events: on the first day the pool staff politely asked us to leave within half an hour for a private class, at the beach a reception took over and guests felt secondary, and the next day the same thing happened at another outdoor pool near the tennis courts; the mansion was also full of wedding guests. I understand events matter for business, but there was no warning when booking about how much of the facilities would be unavailable or disrupted. Finally, for a hotel of this size and price, the absence of a playground or child activities—especially over the weekend—was surprisingly disappointing.

We spent three nights in early July in a one‑bedroom villa and ran into two major problems that spoiled our stay. First, we were charged a daily beach access fee for every day of our stay, a fee that was never disclosed at booking or by the front office; we didn’t use any beach facilities—no towels, sunbeds, or chairs—and simply walked down the stairs to the public beach for a short stroll. Being billed for a daily fee we never used, and without any prior notice, was completely unacceptable. Second, the sofa bed’s mattress was extremely uncomfortable, even for a child; we had to request two mattress toppers from housekeeping to barely make it sleepable, and the housekeeping team seemed well aware of this recurring issue, suggesting the resort needs to address it.

The villa is perfect for seeing Cape whole in a couple of days; the kitchen (fully equipped) and living room are very generous. The sofa‑bed’s mattress is impossible to sleep on—it sinks under a child’s weight and the springs buckle… Also, contacting reception by phone from the villa is practically impossible.
