“2 Nächte Balige”

The waterfront location and restaurant were decent, but our sea‑view suite arrived with dirty bedding that was changed after we pointed it out. Soon after we noticed a broken toilet seat that was only patched up. Later we found ants everywhere in the room and tried to ignore them. Sleep was difficult because the hotel played loud music, making it impossible to fall asleep. After requesting the music be turned down around 23:00 it was lowered, but at 6:30 the sound system started again and the volume increased. The hotel is also very loud‑through‑walls. Even though our room faced the sea, we heard street noise as if the street were next to our window with the windows open. The hotel can handle emergencies, but it’s not suitable for rest or for traveling with a baby, like us.

“Preciosas vistas.”

The location is lovely and the breakfast terrace is great. The breakfast itself is very good. The restaurant’s closing time should be communicated; we couldn’t dine at 9:45 because it was already closed.

“Disappointing”

There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby, close to town and Bulbul beach. The porter/security were friendly. However, at check‑in we were sent to rooms on the opposite side of the road from the main hotel and weren’t told about this. The rooms are basic, not especially clean, and the net curtain was dirty. The corners of the beds are dangerous. The restaurant and bar were underwater for the entire stay—no warning from the hotel. Breakfast food was unappetizing, and staff didn’t replenish items when they ran out; the waiter watched me try to get juice from the tap and didn’t help. The pool is small but clean and cool, yet towels aren’t provided automatically—you must ask at reception before using it. A snack of pisang goreng had stale bananas and was fried in old oil, tasting awful with no sauce, just dry. My wife’s bakwan and tofu were fine, but when she requested chopped chili she was charged extra for it—why would Indonesia charge for chilies?

The spot’s great, but the entrance was a bit odd—crossing the street to a garage where a Doberman was caged all day felt cruel and unnecessary, and it made guests uneasy. The breakfast didn’t live up to expectations.
