Dar Aliane, a boutique guesthouse in Fez’s historic center, sits near Grand Avenue, the Conservatory of Music, and the Church of Fez. Each Moroccan‑styled room reflects a distinct regional aesthetic, arranged around a luminous courtyard with marble and zellige fountains. Three spacious living rooms host tea or meals with eclectic music, while a terrace offers panoramic views of the city.

Nothing. Almost everything.

The room was okay and clean, and the person who met us at the door was very polite. The shower didn’t work, and the biggest disappointment was that the price for this room was $99 but when we checked in the price had increased to $150. We felt that the owner took advantage of the fact that we could not find another room in the area that night and we were forced to pay the increased price.

The hotel was very clean, and the room was re‑cleaned perfectly every day. The breakfast was tasty, and the service was very friendly. We were there in December, and it was very cool, but the air‑conditioning kept the temperatures pleasant. At our request, we even had breakfast delivered to our room. The location is about 15 minutes by car from the Medina.
