The situation was fine, but it turned out to be a motel and I was treated like a hotel guest.

The breakfast was modest, the staff were friendly, and the bed was comfortable, yet the thin walls and doors let me hear the neighbors, the water heater broke during my stay, the bathroom doors were hard to close, and the morning light through the bathroom window woke me up.

The staff fulfilled a special request for an extra blanket, but booking a room to sleep in it was practically impossible; a generator would start at regular intervals, which was extremely loud, and the moldy smell was the second worst thing, making the unkempt interior almost forgivable; oddly, the office was full of certificates with gold and platinum ratings, but I won’t speculate on their origin.
