The people running the place are really nice, super friendly, and the price‑quality ratio is great. They left us an e‑book and let us know it was coming to the new destination. Great folks. On the downside, there was no air conditioning and the building was under construction, so a few cockroaches appeared—expected, though, and the works should finish soon, plus they’ll add a pool. The room rate was very low and you can’t ask for more.
At 9:00 pm the night before check‑in, the host sent a message asking me to cancel our reservation, even though I had received a confirmation and another confirmation of our arrival time. We were left without a place to stay that night. I spent the whole night searching for a last‑minute spot to accommodate us.
Perfect location to do the safari directly with them! Pool, breakfast, private room…everything perfect. Nothing else 😊
We really enjoyed our stay at this guest house in Udawalawe. The place was clean, cozy, and surrounded by beautiful green nature. It was a perfect location to relax and enjoy the peaceful environment. The staff provided excellent service and made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. The food was tasty and served fresh every time. The safari arrangement was one of the best parts of the trip — well organized, exciting, and a great opportunity to see elephants and wildlife closely. A lovely place with kind hospitality, good food, cleanliness, and an unforgettable safari experience. 🩷
We can almost say everything was perfect…except our room was a bit small. The price was, of course, 6 € for 2 nights. The room was very clean, with a bedside table, two bedside lamps, a kettle, and coffee/tea/cream. The bathroom was spotless, hot water and original décor. There was an outdoor table area for the breakfast, which was generous and included in the room price. The safari was well organized and reasonably priced (for 5 h, 20 000 LKR all‑included with 2 L of water, cakes, and bananas). Finally, Gaya, our host, was perfect, responding favorably to all our requests and offering many small attentions. An angel. Oh, I almost forgot the pool…a real delight. I highly recommend this stop for the safari at Gaya.
