“Good value for some, but it's not for everyone”
I was at a conference at a nearby university. The location couldn't be beat for that!. 1) I told them I would be arriving early in the morning, so paid for an extra day. Despite this and despite advising them I was a senior female traveling alone to another country, they left me stranded, and it was only after being on the phone with for about an hour that I finally got access to the property. 2) This is a walk up, with steep stairs and a narrow staircase. Had there not been some strong young man to help me with my suitcases, I'm not sure I ever would have made it. Then they sent me to the wrong room. 3) Communication is not their strong point. They simply don't read or respond to emails unless you've gotten their attention thru . This was annoying, as I had questions about process that simply didn't get answered. 4) Despite the above, this property is inexpensive and centrally located. It's probably great for students or college age folk; the vibe is definitely more hostel than hotel. It was a bit challenging, but this was my first time in Australia, so I didn't need to spend a lot of time in the room. For students or folk who can use bare bones accommodation, this place is fine. There are hotels in the area, and I didn't check their prices. If this is half the price of nearby hotels, it's worth it; if hotels are only 20 or 30 percent higher than this place, I'd probably go with a hotel. YMMV
