The staff were very efficient, welcoming and friendly. They showed you to your room and explained everything. The meal we had in the bar was lovely. The location was convenient with a co‑op right next door for any last‑minute needs. Parking was great and the whole building is lovely and historic. The only inconvenience was some road works causing a detour on the way and a delay when leaving, but that had nothing to do with the property.

The property has a period feel. The staff were friendly and the place was easy to locate. Honestly, everything was good, but we had an issue with one of the radiators: even after turning the knob to zero it stayed super hot and the room was very warm, so we had to keep the windows open to sleep.

The room was comfy and the facilities were great. The pub’s food tasted good and the breakfast was lovely. I wished there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room, though plenty were on the landing. A bath would have been nice, but the shower worked fine.

The staff were attentive and friendly and the room was generally clean. However, the room and lounge felt damp and cold. Even though the weather is unusually mild, the dampness is an issue—wet towels didn’t dry, and because of the building’s age and the room’s location, there’s no sunlight, making everything feel chilly. I’ve stayed here in summer and it wasn’t a problem then.

The staff were friendly. Unfortunately, there was mould in the bathroom, raising concerns about legionella.
