“Kleine herzliche Unterkunft”

A family‑run lodge with a food station that hosts more bird species than the highly praised Rancho Naturalista next door. For the price, the accommodation is basic but still decent, and the food is cheap yet very good. The owner is an excellent bird guide and offers worthwhile tours. A few items need updating, and mosquito nets on the windows would be appreciated.

A great spot to unwind and soak in nature, with birding available right from your deck overlooking the area. If you’re after a quiet place with lovely walking spots, this is it. Jose and his wife cater to every need; Jose is skilled at spotting birds and pointing them out, and his wife cooks wonderfully. I enjoyed the meals, and Jose also served as a helpful tour guide and driver at a fair price. I’d love to return.

“Wonderful will stay again.”

Jose was very gracious and went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. He also acted as a birding guide and led us to the sunbitterns, producing great photos.

The welcome was very friendly, the terrace charming with a beautiful view in front of the room, and the stay was tranquil with good meals. Our host José was very available and skilled at showing us the best spots to see and photograph birds. An excellent stay.

“I would definitely stay here again. It is my second time.”

A lovely place to watch birds amid shrubs, trees, and flowers, especially for hummingbirds. The meals are tasty and well prepared. Jose will drive you to other spots for birdwatching or other interests.
