Avington Lakes is a beautiful spot right in nature. The huts are tastefully furnished, and the baths are well equipped. Unfortunately the site has become a bit run‑down; the sports gear and garden furniture were so dirty they were barely usable, and parking was closed because of fallen branches.

The accommodation was in a gorgeous location and furnished to a high standard. The directions to the cabin could have been a little clearer.

The location was amazing, the facilities were great, and the scenery was very picturesque. The deck was fantastic with all the chairs, the BBQ, and the hot tub, but the only issue was that we expected a lake view and instead saw a puddle of water with reeds and nettles in front of the hut—very disappointing, as that was why we booked.

The location was excellent. The log cabin was clean but lacked attention to detail: cobwebs in corners, dusty shelves, a broken lampshade, and a blind in the bedroom. The whole estate looked tired; the grass and weeds weren’t mowed, and the fishing lakes were neglected. Such a shame for an otherwise great location.

The place feels like a grand period property, but the layout is tight and you can only walk a short distance.
