Staying in that gorgeous old house was fabulous—beautifully decorated, breakfasts excellent, and Kelly and Bruce were superb, attentive hosts; it was great value and I’d gladly come back. Nothing to complain about.

After walking the Glyndwr Way, The Royston was the perfect, relaxing stop; we felt very welcome after a tough day and the evening meal was outstanding with plenty to eat, so I highly recommend it for a Llanbrynmair stopover—it’s a gem. The only downside was that the trail used to pass the front door, but the farmer has blocked access, forcing an irritating detour.

This is the most exquisite place ever, a hidden treasure in a beautiful part of Wales surrounded by rolling hills; the interiors are tastefully done and it’s the most pleasant stay I’ve had. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like—I’m absolutely in love with it.

The hotel sits in a quiet corner near Llanbrynmair, overlooking distant hills, and feels oddly cozy. Bruce greets you warmly and cooks meals with remarkable skill and affection, making my time at the Royston truly enjoyable.
