It was a very nice house, and I enjoyed looking at the interior. I was a little worried about the lack of air conditioning since I came in summer, but it stayed cool and comfortable. The food, which was carefully prepared, was delicious, and at night I could see a sky full of stars. The service was, of course, excellent.

I got to stay in a genuine Japanese house and taste authentic Japanese cuisine far from any metropolis. Getting there without a car means taking a train from Kyoto followed by a bus—there are only a couple of departures each day, so you need to check the schedule ahead of time.

Sayaka and Nicolai were absolutely wonderful hosts, incredibly welcoming. Sayaka cooked amazing meals, both dinner and breakfast, using ingredients straight from their farm and garden. Everything was delicious, and I can’t think of any downside.

The place was amazing! The hosts were friendly, and we felt right at home. The layout and facilities were polished and thoughtful—the rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and private, with fresh flowers and a wide selection of books. The food was incredibly special, with generous portions and every dish tasty. Our favorite was the private onsen, a large bath in a gorgeous room. Thank you so much! The only minor issue was that we didn’t find a hand towel at the sink by the toilet.
