“Great place to stay”
The location and service were excellent, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The food was great. The only downside was that the room felt very hot.

The staff were generally unfriendly, except for the housekeeper who cleaned our room. We found glasses and bottles from previous guests still left outside our room. When I asked for a drink at 2305, the bar staff were unaccommodating because the bar was full of residents and cocktails were still being made. The bar staff clearly need retraining in customer service.

Set in the countryside with nice rooms, the room was quiet and the swimming pool was good. The walk to the room was long, the staff at the bar were not very attentive, and there was a long wait for food. We pre‑booked early check‑in but the rooms were not ready. I think it’s a large hotel, the staff were probably short‑staffed, and they lacked a warmer interaction and greeting.

The staff were mostly amazing and the rooms were adequate. Where do I start? The pool is open to children only at the most inconvenient times, between 8 am and 10 am when breakfast is served and between 4 pm and 6 pm. I can understand adults wanting some peaceful time by the pool, but the timing might be a little off. The worst thing about this place is the food. The restaurant pretends to be upscale, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. I ordered the salmon and I have never been more disappointed; it was the smallest, driest, tasteless piece of salmon I’ve ever been served, with two hassleback potatoes that clearly had been microwaved and a tablespoon of hard, bland mushy peas costing £25. Breakfast wasn’t much better. The full English was lukewarm and the pancakes, which have to be ordered “fresh” from the kitchen, definitely looked bought in and not freshly cooked. For an establishment that charges around £300 a night for rooms with breakfast, I expected better.

Friendly staff, nice clean room, the receptionist let us park our motorcycle right outside reception. Such a long walk from reception to the rooms - especially when you're carrying luggage. Maybe they should offer luggage trolleys or something!
