“Art exhibition space converted to accommodation.”
The place sits in a convenient spot near the train, grocery stores, cafés, restaurants and bars, and the space is big enough that four adults felt at ease. You have to climb about 10 stairs to reach the apartment, but the kitchen is fully equipped and the Wi‑Fi is fast and reliable, with good beds. However, it isn’t a hotel at all – it looks like a basement art exhibition turned into lodging. The biggest issues were that all lights are controlled from a single main switch box; there are no switches inside the rooms, which feels illegal and unsafe, especially in Australia. The main bathroom is just one large concrete‑floored space, and after showering you must mop the floor yourself. The second bathroom is so tiny it’s practically useless. Also, the art on display is quite sexualised and large, so families with young children might want to look elsewhere.
