“Perfectly fine”
We found the location great because we had a car, and a 310 bus stops just 50 metres from the property. It’s quiet, peaceful, and the owner is easy to communicate with. The parking that’s listed as free isn’t actually on the premises; you have to park elsewhere or pay 10 € per day. The kitchen is basic: there’s a hob but no pans, utensils, or anything else.
The welcome is sincere and the owner is very pleasant, thank you. The armchair is too hard to sit on.
“A privileged spot in the most picturesque part of southern Italy.”
Our stay at Golden rooms was simply wonderful! The location is perfect — right between Naples and the Amalfi Coast — offering both convenience for day trips and a peaceful atmosphere to relax. We especially loved enjoying the views from the terrace after a long day of exploring. Armando, our host, was incredibly attentive and gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and souvenir shops, which really enriched our trip. We also appreciated the breakfast invitation at a nearby café, where the coffee was absolutely delicious! The accommodation itself is comfortable and well-equipped, even with a small kitchen that made our stay extra convenient. Plus, it’s just a 5-minute drive to Spiaggia Calcina, a lovely spot by the sea. Overall, Golden Rooms exceeded our expectations, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area
“scelta del luogo per visitare la costiera amalfitana, ne è valsa la pena.”
The atmosphere is very well maintained, the owner is present but not intrusive, and the parking is enclosed. Unfortunately, breakfast is only available at the bar, even though it’s just a few steps away.
“Schöne, geräumige Unterkunft in guter Lage zur Erkundung der Gegend”
We stayed five nights and found the location ideal for exploring Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, and the Amalfi Coast, even though the Castellamare vibe can’t quite match Sorrento and the others. We did discover some good restaurants there for evenings. The accommodation itself is spacious but quite spartan; the kitchenette has almost no equipment—just a glass, two cups, and no pots or pans—though there is a fridge and a kettle. There are two chairs, no way to hang wet items after a swim, but otherwise everything is fine, just a bit spartan. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom is nice. The whole complex is also very nice and green. The landlord was very friendly and it wasn’t a problem to get fresh towels during the stay. Overall, the value for money was good. It’s the only rented apartment in the complex and has a lovely terrace. The apartment as a whole feels a bit “muggy”/damp; the humidity builds up so wet swimwear or towels in the bathroom don’t dry. I personally find that a bit uncomfortable; it’s probably common near the sea. The breakfast that can be redeemed with a voucher at a nearby café is rather disappointing; depending on who operates the promising coffee machine, the coffee is not good by Italian standards, the milk foam doesn’t work at all, and for non‑coffee drinkers the only alternative offered was hot milk; there was no tea and we didn’t get a juice with the voucher. The croissants are okay. Parking is possible on the property but is not included in the rent and costs 10 €/day; since the accommodation is located so that you actually need a car to get to restaurants in the centre at night, otherwise you have to walk up a hill, I would find it more sensible if parking were included.
