The breakfast wasn't extraordinary but acceptable; many fruit flies hovered around the preserves, and the breakfast cost an extra 10€ per person, with drinks billed separately. We knew there was no elevator (my husband was celebrating his 85th birthday there) so we were given a room on the first floor with a freestanding shower as requested. We had previously heard about the Teichhotel from earlier visits to the hotel’s restaurant, but we were not told that there were canal construction works directly in front of the hotel, forcing us to pass through the construction site to reach the hotel. Consequently there were no hotel parking spaces, so we used the school’s parking lot across the street. Construction noise began at 7 am, and on the two closed days (Monday and Tuesday) there was only one entrance through the back gate.

Location near VIBA Arena was optimal, and the staff greeted us very warmly. It was a bit noisy, but that’s unavoidable for the hotel. I had booked breakfast on site, which was sufficient and varied, and a young woman set up a nice quiet table for us. Parking in front of the building worked great despite the construction.

Engaged, friendly staff and the option to store bicycles. The setup was rather basic (e.g., no fridge or coffee‑making facilities in the room), but it was acceptable.
