The place was close to the high street and parking was good, but I booked it thinking it was 1 mile from the Farmers Dog pub, while it’s actually over 3 miles away on a busy A road with no pavements. A strong cinnamon smell hit the entrance area, overpowering and unpleasant. The view from my room was of Lorrie’s, about 20 feet from the A40, which was noisy all night; closing the windows cut the noise but left the room stale. Luckily it wasn’t too hot, as there was no air‑con or fans. The mattress was very old and uncomfortable, and the bathroom looked tired and needed a fresh coat of paint. I booked two nights but was ready to leave after the first.

Burford is a 10‑minute walk, free parking, good breakfast in a stylish setting, and solid Wi‑Fi, but the bed feels very “shaky” and our street‑side room was noisy; the TV is outdated.
