Jayne is a lovely, attentive host. The property is well located, maintained to a very high standard, and breakfasts were delicious—highly recommended.

The gorgeous property near the lovely town of Akaroa, Jane’s warm hospitality, and magnificent breakfast made our stay unforgettable. We stayed twice in different rooms, both fabulous with views across immaculate gardens to the bay, and it felt like coming home when we returned after our NZ tour. I’d recommend this as an alternative to staying in Christchurch.

We stayed in a converted building surrounded by beautiful gardens with free‑range chickens. It was quite cool but had a good quality fan heater. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We didn’t cook, but a ring, toaster, microwave, kettle, and Nespresso machine were available. Breakfast at the main house was delicious with a lovely view of the bay, and we had a fabulous (though expensive) lunch at the Caldera wine estate with amazing views. Check‑in at 4 pm felt a bit late, the bathroom floor was very cold despite a heater, and the electricity tripped if too many appliances were used at once.

The breakfast was amazing and the cottage was great and comfortable. The shower ran cold for the second person because of a small hot‑water cylinder, and there was no hair dryer.
