“AMOR A PRIMERA VISTA😍”
I have no words to describe the wonderful hospitality at the convent; it has been an unforgettable experience 😘❤️👌. One thing to add: they should put more hammocks in the pool area.
The place exudes a calm vibe and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive.
“Son muy agradables en las atenciones. Está todo muy limpio. Bien ubicado y con muy fácil acceso. Es todo blanco impoluto”
The tranquility and peace you feel. The facilities are impeccable. There is no free buffet.
“Un lugar con encanto en Extremadura”
I really liked the library and the pool, but the accessibility was lacking.
“CONVENTO DE LA PARRA: creo que acabo de encontrar mi escondite secreto”
I went to Hospedería Convento de la Parra for two days and ended up in a place that makes you hesitate to share it, fearing it might lose its secretiveness. I arrived just to rest, but I found myself thinking, smelling, observing, and most importantly, slowing down. Perhaps it’s because the building is over three centuries old. This former convent of clarissas was founded in 1673, last occupied by nuns in 1979, and after various phases became the hostel it is today. Despite everything that has happened inside, the structure still feels like it was built to live slowly. The old cells are now rooms, the refectory, corridors, cloister, thick walls, and floors all still echo that austerity. There’s no luxury in excess, just a kind of silence that’s become hard to find elsewhere. I walked alone in the cloister listening to the fountain and birds. In the courtyard the orange trees give off that green, slightly bitter scent of leaf and wood that I love. When most of the usual noise fades, you start noticing things that were always there: water, a bird, your own steps, the smell of an old room, air moving through a corridor… even your thoughts. For someone like me, who constantly imagines formulas, aromas, products, projects, and new things, finding a place that can quiet everything else for a while has enormous value. What impressed me even more was hearing the recent history of the place and the families behind it today.
