The breakfast selection was very good, the beds were comfy, the air conditioning worked well, the staff were friendly, and the interior design was beautiful. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 5 pm, we waited an hour for dinner, and too many flies made eating uncomfortable.

Breakfast was very good—cheese selection, homemade pastries, etc. The downside: I had to drink coffee at a gas station because there was no power in Talaria. The whole pool was a noise source for me. The highlight was the mini zoo. Talaria’s celebrations are already behind, so some things fall short—it’s a bit dirty. In the morning there was no power; if I’d known I couldn’t drink coffee or dry my hair, I’d have stayed home. I felt the area around the mini zoo was badly neglected: swaying fences, peeling paint, rotting apples falling from trees nobody picks up.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the rooms felt a bit outdated even though they were impeccably clean.

The hotel has a rich history and the grounds are gorgeous, with plenty to stroll around, a sauna, a pool, and tasty food surrounded by animals, plus great views. If the hotel could invest a bit more—tidy up the worn artificial grass patches that aren’t paved, and maybe add an outdoor pool, a kids’ play area with inflatables, a obstacle course, or a maze—the appeal would rise.

The breakfast was tasty and varied, the service polite, the setting calm and green, and pets were allowed in a separate pavilion away from the main building. Yet, this was our second stay here and we noticed a gradual decline in comfort, especially in the spa area. The saunas, particularly the steam room, need a thorough renovation—there’s mold on the ceiling, which is hazardous. The cushions on the outdoor sofa by the pool exit have also faded, so sitting on the deep rattan sofas without pillows is very uncomfortable.
