We booked villa S6 with its own pool, and the first impression of the accommodation was absolutely fantastic—extremely beautiful and spacious, with a well‑maintained pool. There were plenty of areas to relax outside the villa, on “our own farm,” and inside the villa itself. The bathroom was very roomy and luxurious, with a shower that could accommodate the whole family at once. It’s clear that the focus of this property is on aesthetics and Instagram‑friendly appeal. The villa was a 5‑minute walk from the superb Klong Hin beach, the beach we reached during our stay on Koh Kood. Breakfast, given the hotel’s price, was not amazing but acceptable. The same applied to the restaurant’s food: good, but with the prices, we expected a bit more. It was greatly appreciated that the entire minibar, both dry and chilled items, was included at no extra cost. Because the nearest convenience store was a bit of a walk, this made the stay even more appreciated. The reception hours, 09:00‑18:00, were extremely odd. It didn’t feel safe to know that if something urgent happened after 18:00 the staff would not be there to help. Even though the villa was beautiful, we slept terribly in the bed. The bed was far too hard—a single large hard mattress on a wooden frame—and it was very quiet to all external sounds. When you pay so much for accommodation, you expect a bed that meets the price standard… The property is located at the southern tip of Koh Kood, far from attractions and shops on the rest of the island, but we were aware of this when booking. Since we don’t rent motorbikes, we rely on taxis, which on the island were ridiculously expensive. A trip to and from the hotel to Khlong Chao waterfall cost us 700 THB. So we didn’t take many taxi rides. The restaurant service was subpar. The staff were very inattentive, failing to notice empty plates or ask if anything else was needed. Many times we watched them for minutes before they finally gave us attention because they were mostly talking to each other or checking their phones. Adding to that, we were there in low season and during each restaurant visit there were only us and up to three other guests. It was obvious that a few older staff members, like the older man and one woman, were enthusiastic, but the younger staff didn’t meet the same expected standard. Given the price of the accommodation combined with the service and the rest of the hotel experience, we would not choose to stay here again if we visit Koh Kood again.
