“Hugely disappointing experience not remotely worth the price.”
The room was very nice, with a beautiful four poster bed and the bathroom was attractive. The pillows were terrible. For the price of the room you would expect breakfast to be included, not an additional £20 per person. Whilst the room was nice, the rest of the pub left a lot to be desired. Quite shabby, no nice extra touches, fires not lit, extremely bright unwelcoming lighting that made the evening very uncomfortable and robbed the place of any atmosphere whatsoever. No candles etc. The food was spectacularly average at best and the staff were scruffy. We have stayed at The Manor House on a number of occasions over the years and have always very much enjoyed it, so had high hopes for the pub. We had eaten there on one of our stays at the Manor 8 years ago and enjoyed it. Booked for a birthday getaway and was bitterly disappointed. It felt like a cheap chain pub, not part of an Exclusive hotel group. Huge shame. Would not return even for dinner when staying at the Manor and certainly would not recommend
