The outdoor area and heated pool are great, and the main building is full of historic antiques and furniture. The hosts were kind and gave us advice on where to visit. Breakfast was always fresh. The chickens, peafowl, and cats (if you like them) are nice to see running free around the property. If you book a bedroom in the main house, the outdoor kitchen and seating area let you prepare small meals. A large fridge is also available to keep food fresh, and there’s a microwave too. The gas cooker in the outdoor kitchen needs some attention because only one ring works. There’s no running water in the outdoor kitchen, but the hosts took our pots and washed them in the main house – very kind, thank you. A plumber has been booked. A few weeds and plants around the pool being sorted would make a great pool area perfect.
