A great new hotel in a wellness resort on the outskirts of Zutphen. The room was very spacious with a separate WC, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly, all in a very quiet setting. However, because the wellness resort is popular on weekends, there aren’t enough parking spaces for hotel guests.

The wellness and room were good, but there was little to do around.

The room was large, the bathroom luxurious, and the view was beautiful. The reception was poor; we received a lot of emails beforehand, including one to check in online and another saying our room was ready and that we had a digital key. When we arrived, we were told the digital key was useless and we still had to go to the reception, where they said the key didn’t matter. Even though we had an email that the room would be ready at 14:00, they automatically said check‑in was only from 15:00. Then we finally got a key, but they didn’t even ask for our name. You have to specify an exact time for breakfast, with the explanation that breakfast is served at the table. But if you’re on a weekend getaway and want to relax, a fixed time is the last thing you want. A “window” of, say, one hour, would be better. It’s really a wellness center with a few rooms, not a hotel with wellness facilities. So there’s no lobby, dining room, etc. Everything is done in the wellness center among outside guests.
