I liked the room concept, but the cleaning was bad and the facilities were worn out; the bathroom flooded while I was showering, the toilet water seemed to not drain, and there was a strong musty odor.

The continental breakfast was good, with high‑quality pastries, tasty dishes, and natural fruit; the place is truly excellent and I recommend it 10/10. It has a kitchen, a bar‑dining area, a sofa‑bed, a couch, a TV, and feels like a mini house with two closets, one of which is at the entrance, a sink with soap, liquid soap, and a sponge, a coffee maker, a stove, pans, dishes, utensils, paper towels, cups, a fridge, glasses, a drawer for clothes, a microwave, and a complete kitchen. The staff were excellent, all rooms were very close to the parking, there was double‑door security, reception was fast and also reachable by phone with multilingual support. The only thing that didn't sit right in the room was that some items were just placed on top of each other, like the door of one of the closets; maybe it was just this room but I have stayed several times and it was great, the staff were excellent.

The room was spacious enough, but the first one we went to was far back and hard to reach because of overgrown bushes and carrying our luggage. Once we climbed the stairs we entered a filthy sauna. The room was dirty and the AC was at 88 degrees. We readjusted the AC and waited a bit, but the temperature stayed the same. I called the front office, explained the issue, and they had us hike back down to the office to swap rooms. The front desk lady tried to give us another room that was also in the back and would be another difficult climb. The second room had a broken door and the lock seemed to have been compromised by a recent forced entry. The room was full of dust, had stains everywhere, smelled of smoke and dust. It was late and the front desk lady’s attitude was not very kind or helpful; she said if I wanted to go somewhere else I would have to talk to booking to get a refund. When I explained my frustrations and that this was unacceptable, we had paid a 250.00 dollar deposit for the room, which they do not tell you about until you get there, and we expected a clean functional room. She was unapologetic and said we had other rooms. At that point we realized it was late and this was the kind of establishment this once very nice hotel had become; we went to bed very unhappy. The next day my co‑workers and I cleaned and disinfected the room so we wouldn’t have to tolerate the terrible odor. My husband and I had used the facility in the past and it was a little outdated, but clean and offered everything we needed in good working order. I became one of our favorite places to stay with our children, we felt safe, and it had decent accommodations. The staff were kind and they offered a decent breakfast. This experience was embarrassing and sad; my co‑workers and I went to breakfast and the omelets were burnt, I mean burnt. It is so disappointing because when I think Sonesta I think quality and home‑like.
