“Sejour trés agréable”

It was perfect for our short wedding trip: the house was very clean, the bedding was ideal, and we found all the kitchen and bathroom equipment we needed. I recommend it!

It was a nice, quiet, clean home, but we only had one washcloth for four people and six nights, one single towel for four people, three coffee cups with milk and one of them had a broken handle, we took turns to see coffee, no cleaning cloth for countertops and table, no knife to cut with, they were even dangerous because we had to cut hard; on the last day many demands at 10 am outside, but the check‑in was after 16 h and we still hadn’t received the password mail, we were sent more than five emails to make a 500 € deposit and the link asked for the CVC, we had no card with CVV and it didn’t work, we had to call Spain to see if they could give us a card in that format. The kitchen supplies were minimal.

The accommodation is near Amboise and the bedding was good for four adults and two children. We had asked about fans before arrival and were told the house had thick walls; that was true for the downstairs room with a double bed and the living‑kitchen, and by closing shutters and airing out at night the heat was fine. However the two upstairs rooms, each with two single beds, were under the roof and were real furnaces – seriously consider adding fans. Another issue: we accidentally broke a glass cup on the fridge (our daughter bumped into the fridge by the stairwell at night while trying to join us) and reported it to the host; the reply said “no problem, it can happen and thanks for your honesty,” but in reality the full deposit was deducted. After the stay we repeatedly contacted the host with no response until they finally said they hadn’t deducted it; the cup was expensive, but the worst was the host’s lack of communication, which caused weeks of stress. We eventually got back a 10 % reduced deposit, but at what cost… if we’d known, we’d have bought it ourselves, which would have been cheaper. The poor post‑stay communication and the lack of fans in the upper rooms ruined the experience.

The house was quiet, had all the essentials, and the little touches on arrival were pleasant. The bedding in the master bedroom could use a refresh.
