The location was exceptional, the rooms had great views, the food was amazing, and the guide was brilliant. However, there was a bit of disorganization with the timings; you can't return with the off‑road vehicle at 11 am and you’re stuck in the lodge until 16 pm without even being able to walk around because lions might be nearby.

It was an incredible experience that left me feeling pampered from start to finish. The stay is pricey, but you always need to consider where you’re staying… It’s so beautiful! I never felt bored. The food was super tasty, all‑inclusive. The walking safari was also a lot of fun and educational. Visiting the village was a commercial venture, but we still enjoyed it!

Anthony and Suzi gave us a fantastic welcome, and our guide Castro was brilliant at spotting birds and game we would never have seen on our own. We were well taken care of and enjoyed our four days thoroughly. Seeing the resident genets was lovely, and we were lucky enough to spot a lion on the first morning. Leaving our car at the safe shelter right at the entrance to their land was a great idea, and our Toyota SUV handled the park roads fine. We appreciated the constant supply of drinking water. The dune ride to get there is spectacular, but it’s far from most of the game, so the guides drive longer hours while you sit back and relax. The brackish water there feels odd, but after a shower you feel refreshed and it isn’t tacky at all.

The lodge sits in an exposed spot. We had been looking forward to it for months and had high hopes based on the promo videos. After two nights we left very disappointed! The facilities are very old and shabby. The price doesn’t match the service. Breakfast was good, but lunch and dinner were mediocre. The game drives were totally disappointing because the guide drove around randomly without preparation. We heard lions very clearly nearby, but the guide couldn’t spot them. As experienced African travelers, we absolutely cannot recommend this lodge.

The place is magical and the guide was very interesting (two game drives with little success, an informative walk). We saw many more oryx and hartebeest from the terrace than on safari; the access route is very pleasant. It suffers from major under‑investment; everything is in its own juice; everything is quite outdated (with the solar panels we could have a fridge). The meat was good, but drowned in a brown sauce. The best meal is breakfast. Plumbing is pathetic. A bit of Wi‑Fi would be useful. Very (too) expensive, especially since we were alone in early November. It’s not the place to see many animals; we’re in the dunes (as we had anticipated).
