The setting is beautiful in a property of significant historical interest. It’s peaceful and off the beaten track, making it an ideal getaway for a couple on holiday. The only issues were that the bedtime lighting was a little too bright for us and the phone USB charging was not provided. I would have liked a savoury option for breakfast in addition to the tasty sweet pastries, jams, and yoghurts. Small problems, easily fixed, for a perfect score.

The château is superb, clean, well‑renovated, with a large room and a superb bathroom. It’s well heated, no damp smell, the breakfast is plentiful, and it’s well positioned for tourism in the region. Nothing to complain about.

The surroundings were pleasant and the kitchen was fully equipped so we could cook ourselves.

The hosts were friendly and gave a warm welcome; the place was peaceful and surrounded by nature, perfect for exploring. We swam in the pool on the hottest day of our stay. The property had friendly pigmy goats, dogs, donkeys, and a hare. The trees provided cool shade and dappled sunshine. Sitting by the large pond, watching fish, dragonflies, toads, and ducks was very relaxing. Everything was comfortable, the Wi‑Fi was great, and the kitchen area had a large fridge‑freezer; we’d return in a heartbeat.
