The location is good, on the first parallel of the promenade, close to the corner where the party spots are. The lodge’s patio, colonial architecture, pool, and landscaping were the main reasons I chose this place and it didn’t disappoint. The check‑in and breakfast staff were excellent. The room is small, basic, with a queen bed that’s small and no extra pillows, and a simple bathroom. To have privacy you must keep the translucent curtain closed because the corridor where guests and staff walk is right in front of the room window. Unfortunately, this architectural style is very common for lodges in Brazil, which I don’t understand because the corridor could easily have been built behind the rooms. In the garden I asked for a caipirinha, which took almost half an hour and came with vodka. They said that’s just how it is, which I find strange because the vodka version I know is called caipiroska or caipivodka.

The staff were first‑class, the facilities spotless, and the food was tasty for the price; breakfast was also good, and the outdoor area felt cozy. The mattress was very uncomfortable, and if moderate to heavy rain is forecast, stay elsewhere because the chance of getting stranded is high—the street in front can rise to about 40 cm of water.
