A solid base for excursions and a pleasant hotel, but the heating had no effect.

The location is excellent for visiting Koli National Park. On arrival, the building’s dominant size in this small‑house village startled me: Bettenburg! Still, it’s beautifully furnished with Nordic design and plenty of light wood. The room is modern and comfortable. The sauna on the 5th floor is also stylish. The breakfast, while typical of Finnish hotels, was delicious! Plenty of free parking. Even though the sister hotel on the mountain offers better views and is much pricier, a car and the free elevator bring you to the same level quickly, and then it’s just 300 meters to the main summit Ukko‑Koli!

The place was genuinely cozy, just as you’d expect from a new and nice hotel. I went to sauna with a few foreigners and they thought I could relax a bit more with the loose‑air tossing… we laughed a lot, and even though we’re turning around every time we pass a curve, it was fun.

The breakfast was good, but the dryer didn’t work and the cleaner couldn’t help us, though she did give us new dry towels.
