“You get what you pay for”

The location was great for the city centre and the price was very cheap. The carpets were stained and worn; the bedroom felt damp when we arrived; the balcony needed sweeping; the heating/air‑con was very noisy; the shower was just a head with nowhere to hang it; there was only one socket in the whole room; and the sink had no hot water. The staff did their job but seemed surly.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The building was dilapidated and, like the whole area, the taps released salty water.

The only thing good was the price. The place was very noisy, both inside and outside. The reception staff didn’t speak English. It smelled of heavily smoked cigarettes. There were multiple stains on the carpets in the bedroom and corridor. The Wi‑Fi code had to be written by hand, and the one in the room was illegible.

The entire room and bathroom were filthy. The cleanliness was below acceptable. You’d be afraid of catching something. The cleanliness was terrible.

The only thing that mattered was the location. Everything else was awful. The rooms were cramped, the hallways were cramped, the corridors smelled like cigarettes, and if you opened the bathroom window, cigarette smoke would drift in through the vents. The bathroom accessories were rusty, the air‑conditioners looked so shabby I almost didn’t turn them on. My colleagues’ toilets were clogged. It was a deserted hotel.
