“A delightful stay!”

Christian was a delightful host and a pleasure to talk with. He has a charming home in an extremely quiet area outside of Domme. We stayed for three nights so we could use it as our base. We feasted on his excellent breakfasts each morning! We appreciated having the use of a small guest fridge. Understand that this is his private home, so making tea or coffee is frowned upon. He has a large selection of lovely knickknacks, but I would recommend removing some from the guest bedrooms, so people have more room for their own things

If you want a little adventure wrapped in care, coziness, and attention, you must visit this magnificent home. Watch the morning light filter through the treetops and create a fairy‑tale atmosphere while you sip hot coffee and fresh croissants. The house reflects the host’s style, infused with a creative part of himself, making it a true aesthetic delight. There are spots you never want to leave, and my husband and I certainly didn’t want to leave this beautiful spot.

“Ein authentisches Stück Perigord”

Le Manoir du Rocher liegt absolut ruhig im Wald und hat eine wunderschöne Terrasse mit einem traumhaften Blick in die Landschaft. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind ein Erlebnis. Christian ist ein sehr herzlicher Gastgeber, immer bestrebt, dass sich seine Gäste wohlfühlen. Er sorgt für eine entspannte Atmosphäre und eine angenehme Konversation zwischen den Gästen. Der Frühstückstisch ist perfekt gedeckt und wir wurden mit frischgebackenem Kuchen überrascht. Am Ankunftsabend lud uns Christian überraschend zum Abendessen mit den anderen Gästen ein. Aufgrund der ruhigen Lage können Restaurants nur mit dem Auto erreicht werden. Der Pool ist toll und vor allem sehr groß. Etwas ungewohnt für uns war die offene Atmosphäre von Dusche und Waschbecken im Vorraum unseres Deluxe Doppelzimmers im Turm, was wir allerdings nicht als ein großes Problem betrachteten

Christian is an extremely hospitable, attentive host who serves a fine, varied breakfast with homemade cakes every morning and always looks after his guests. The wonderful, spacious property sits in a large, well‑kept garden and features a particularly beautiful pool.

“Disappointing”

The Manoir is hidden in the woods above the Dordogne, many kilometres from any shops, bars or other facilities. We liked the environment, the old buildings and the large swimming pool. The bedroom was a good size; the bed was very large and comfortable. We had expected a lovely hotel but it turned out to be an ordinary B&B that felt very expensive, run single‑handedly by the host/owner. We saw no other staff over five days. The rooms were not serviced and no cleaning occurred during our stay. There were no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. A notice in our room said (in French) that it is strictly prohibited to have food in the room. The host/owner requires that all guests have breakfast together at 09.00 (going on until 10.00) sitting around a single large table. We would have preferred breakfast earlier as a finish around 10.00 meant we were often late to other attractions in the area. The entry door to our room was through the bathroom, which combined a shower, wash‑hand basins and the toilet, with a dressing area. This meant there was no personal privacy. The toilet compartment was small, in one corner. It had no window or extractor fan. The bedroom was accessed out of the bathroom via 3 stone steps that were tricky to negotiate at night. We had booked for five nights but left after four.
