The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making me feel at home from the first minute—like part of a warm family. However, sharing a room with a regular guest meant I never felt I had a private space and constantly worried about disturbing them.

The owners were super friendly and helped me with everything I needed, and the place is right next to the subway. But the common area gets a lot of smoking from other guests, even though the owners keep telling them not to.

The living room was quirky and the washbasin was unique. It's just one subway stop from Lanzhou West Station and a short walk, so getting there is easy. The cat was super friendly and adorable. But the place was hard to locate; it didn't show up on Google or Baidu maps. The name on the booking site was long English, but the actual sign is in Chinese characters, which would have helped, especially for Japanese travelers. The day‑tour pick‑up was confusing, and the bathroom was dim.

The host was really helpful, and the place is near the Western train station, though getting there is a bit of a hassle—Didi rides are the best option. I couldn't sleep well; the bunk beds creaked and there was a lot of noise from other guests and the common area. I didn't run into any other international backpackers.
