The location was good and the furnishings were nice, but the internet was weak. In the evening I found there was no bed sheet—only a synthetic mattress protector—so I had to use a towel, which made my whole body itch.

The trouble started as soon as I entered the hotel lobby—no staff were at the front desk. After five minutes a drunk woman appeared (payment could only be made in cash). We checked into our room, but when we tried to leave the hotel we discovered we were locked in against our will; the only exit was closed. Calls for staff were ignored. After five minutes of shouting “Help me!” and before I could call the police, a hotel employee appeared and was surprised that we were upset about his control over our freedom and his decision on when we could leave. To the hotel owners: How did you even think about locking people against their will? If a fire were to occur and the sole exit were blocked, would the owner be legally responsible for his actions?
