The guesthouse is a charming, cozy spot in the island’s center on a quiet street, with a bright, clean room and a large wooden bed; I liked that it’s a single‑floor building with good ventilation, Wi‑Fi works great, and I felt safe and calm staying alone; the kitchen is convenient, tea/coffee is free, there’s a washing machine, and the host offered fresh fruit from his plantations daily and again on departure; the guesthouse arranged airport transfers in and out, provides free bicycles, and the area has many shops and cafés, so I would return next time—everything was super!

The guest house is wonderful, with a tidy flowered yard and a great spot between two bikini beaches; owner Maruf was friendly, helped us with money exchange and tours, and resolved any household request. Tanjil worked there, treating us daily to coconuts and papaya, and cleaning plus towel changes were done every day, including beach towels. Free bicycles and snorkel masks were available, though many masks had broken straps, so it’s better to bring your own. In the rooms, street noise was noticeable, and the nearby mosque and school sometimes disrupted quiet rest. Ants ran in the rooms (as usual in the tropics), and occasionally lizards and large beetles appeared. Storage space was limited, forcing us to keep items in the suitcase and place it on the floor, which hindered movement.

I hesitated to write a review because I don’t like leaving negative comments, but after seeing many positive ones I decided to share my personal experience. The location is decent. The place was somewhat dirty, dim, and the sockets sparkled. The locks were unreliable and the host’s behavior was questionable. I might have just been unlucky with no other guests around. I don’t recommend this spot for solo travelers.

“Estancia increíble en Thoddoo”

They were very hospitable; upon arrival we were greeted with fruit. They also helped us book the speedboat from the airport to Thoddoo.

The room was not bad, clean! Free papaya was available in the kitchen anytime, and water was filtered (I’m not sure how often they change the filters). I thank the host who trusted me and paid for a helicopter ride because of my remote payment issue; that’s the main reason I didn’t give a lower score. Moped and mosque noise was audible because my room was the first one near the exit. I didn’t like the island at all; I still don’t understand why it’s so popular among tourists from the CIS. It was dirty, restaurants were expensive, and in a slightly cheaper place I got food poisoning.
