“It did the job. I was appearing at a Book Fair in Sudbury early on the Sunday so it was convenient”
The room was functional, the TV worked, and the bed was comfortable; tea and coffee were supplied, though that should be standard for a £84 nightly rate. The entrance was confusing: a sign in the window said the entrance was through the arch, leading me to think it was elsewhere, so I had to back into the pub and ask a staff member. A private party was in session, so the bar was closed, and on Sunday no one was around and I expected some breakfast. The room was basic, and the door was hard to lock from the outside. Overall, the price was too high—at least £20 more than what I’d paid elsewhere for better surroundings.
