We paid twice for the tourist tax and VAT. We understood the staff were pocketing the money—what a shame.

Riad Dar El Aila, a boutique Moroccan riad in Marrakech, sits a 15‑minute walk from Jemaa el‑Fnaa and Majorelle Gardens. Two courtyards surround a pool, terrace overlooking the Medina and Atlas Mountains, hammam, and massage room. Molto bella e accogliente, ma per un po’ di tempo mancava l’acqua per lavarsi.

The riad is very beautiful and calm; the main courtyard is serene and well decorated, and the room itself is stunning with traditional materials and details that showcase Marrakech’s craftsmanship. The location is convenient and easy to reach by car, and the staff are friendly. I would highly recommend it for the value it offers, though I’m tall and the ironwork bed, while gorgeous and comfy, was far too short for me.

The staff were adorable and attentive. The location was great because it was quiet and outside the souk, yet not too far! The room was very pretty and pleasant.

A very well‑maintained and well‑equipped riad with a top location.
