The check‑in went smoothly, the restaurant was spotless and the staff were welcoming, but when we arrived we had to pay for a take‑away meal because the restaurant was closed; the chicken was cooked in oil instead of sauce and made us both feel ill that night, and there was no Wi‑Fi anywhere, not even in the dining area.

The cabins are charming, the continental breakfast is included, there’s plenty of space and a forest setting to enjoy, a fire pit, a great bed and ample room, but the brewery was shut on the Thursday night before the long weekend—a surprise—and we would have liked a sink in the cabin.
